'The Lancaster Bomber' is a 'British Second World War Heavy Bomber'.The aircraft was designed and built by a company called 'Avro'.
On 2nd March 1942, the '44 Squadron' based at Waddington carried out the first operational mission of the Lancaster, deploying naval mines in the vicinity of Heligoland Bight.
Followed by Lancaster's first bombing mission over the German city of 'Essen' on the 10th March 1942.
