The Red Devils
'The Red Devils' are the 'Parachute Regiment Display Team'. The 'Red Devils' are serving 'Paratroopers' from 'Four Batalians' of the 'Parachute Regiment', who have volunteered to serve on the ' 'Display Team'.
The 'Red Devils' have very 'Humble Beginnings', the 'Display Team' was formed by the enthusiasm and dedication of Lt Edward Gardner in 1963. In 1964 he was appointed to 'Officer Commanding The Parachute Regiment Free Fall Team'.
There was no funding then, and nobody would 'Sponsor' a new venture. The members of the team had to buy their own kit, and jump platform by hiring 'APA's Rapide' or other civilian aircraft, funded by the members of the team's own finances.
'Valkyrie'
Lt Col Gilbert came up with the idea of buying their own aircraft and all 'Three Batalians' came together and gathered 'Interest-Free Loans' to buy their 'Rapid Aircraft'.
The aircraft was named ' Valkyrie'.
The aircraft is flown now as then by volunteer 'Civilian and Military Pilots'.
Around fifty displays were booked between May and October 1964 all the fees helped to pay back the loans.
By the end of 1964, 'The Red Devils' and 'The Silver Stars' were established.
Display Teams
'The Army' now has 'Four Parachute Display Teams', which are renowned all around the world.
'The Red Devils',' The Silver Stars',
' The Tigers' and 'The Lightning Bolts'
